Giving Renewables a Sporting Chance
Linlith-Go-Solar has installed PV panels at the town's rugby club, golf club and sports club, raising the money needed from community bonds. These panels are producing renewable energy for the clubs, as well as paying back bond holders. It's hoped that, over the years, as the initiative makes a surplus from energy generation, the money can be reinvested in other local community projects. Both lowering local and global emissions, LGS show the role that sports clubs have in promoting climate action in the community. LGS hope to tap into larger sporting networks to initiate wider spread adoption of renewable energy.
